Submission in response to MCFD's Child, Family and Community Service Legislative Reform

Feminists Deliver made a submission to the Ministry of Child and Family Development’s (MCFD) on their reform of the Child, Family, and Community Service Act.

In our submission, we urge MCFD to make a commitment to bringing transformative change to the family policing system.

Our calls to action include fully funding and implementing a number of reports that Indigenous peoples have time and again recommended, as well as changing the system to one that is rights-based with a self-determined approach. We also urge the ministry to decolonize and Indigenize its workings and the child welfare system.
